This Privacy Policy explains how Tamub ("Tamub," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with your use of our website, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only information that you actively and voluntarily provide to us. We do not passively harvest data or purchase data from third parties. The categories of information we may collect include:

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, and any other details you choose to provide.
  • Profile & User Content: Information you add to your profile, including posts, reviews, preferences, and other content you submit through the Service.
  • Recipe Data: Recipes and related content you submit for AI-assisted processing (see Section 3 for details on how this is handled).
  • Know Your Customer (KYC) Data: To access certain features of the Service, we may ask you to complete an identity verification process. This may include government-issued identification, date of birth, and related documents. KYC data is treated with the highest level of confidentiality and is subject to the additional protections described in Section 5.
  • Communications: Messages or inquiries you send to us directly, such as through our support email.
  • Analytics: We may collect aggregated and anonymized data to understand usage patterns and improve the Service.

We do not collect usage analytics, passive behavioral data, advertising identifiers, or device telemetry beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and provide you with access to the Service
  • To personalize your experience based on the preferences and content you share
  • To process recipe submissions using AI assistance (see Section 3)
  • To verify your identity and unlock gated features upon successful KYC completion
  • To respond to your support requests, questions, and communications
  • To ensure the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Service
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for third-party purposes, or any purpose beyond what is necessary to provide and improve the Service.

3. AI Processing of Recipe Data

When you submit recipes for AI-assisted features, those recipes are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI service solely for the purpose of processing your request. This is the only instance in which any of your data is shared with a third-party service.

Recipe submissions are sent to Gemini for processing and are stored on secure servers for viewing and analysis. We do not sell, license, or otherwise share recipe data for any secondary purpose. You should avoid including sensitive personal information in recipe submissions.

By using AI-assisted recipe features, you acknowledge that submitted recipe content is processed by Google's Gemini AI in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with any third party, except in the following limited circumstances:

  • AI Recipe Processing: As described in Section 3, recipe content is processed via the Gemini AI API.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if required to do so by applicable law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tamub, our users, or others.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before such a transfer takes effect and before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • With Your Explicit Consent: We may share information in other circumstances with your prior, explicit consent.

We have no advertising relationships and do not integrate third-party tracking or analytics SDKs that harvest your data beyond the scope of providing and improving the Service.

5. KYC Data & Identity Verification

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification is required to unlock certain features of the Service. KYC data, including any identity documents or personal identifiers submitted is treated as strictly confidential and is subject to the following protections:

  • KYC data is collected solely to verify your identity and is not used for any other purpose.
  • KYC data is not shared with third parties, except as required by law.
  • Access to KYC data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
  • Right to Deletion: You may request permanent deletion of your KYC data at any time by contacting us at support@tamub.com. Deletion requests will be processed within a reasonable time. Note that deletion of KYC data may result in the loss of access to features that require identity verification.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include access controls, encryption of sensitive data at rest and in transit, and regular security reviews.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@tamub.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as necessary to provide the Service. If you delete your account or request erasure of your data, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business necessity (e.g., fraud prevention, legal disputes, or regulatory obligations).

8. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Access & Portability: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to applicable legal obligations.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Opt-Out of Communications: You may opt out of non-essential communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in those messages or contacting us directly.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@tamub.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us at support@tamub.com.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from and data may be stored or processed in jurisdictions that may not have the same data protection laws as your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information in accordance with this policy. Where required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR), we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms to handle cross-border data flows.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will provide more prominent notice, such as an in-app notification or an email to the address associated with your account.
